Columbia Heights Police Chief Matt Markham said he has been told of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in the city, but has not personally verified those reports.
Markham said he trusts the sources who told him about the activity, but rejected any suggestion that the Columbia Heights Police Department was involved.
“Any reports of the police department collaborating with ICE are categorically false,” Markham said. “I have no idea where these rumors come from or how they start.”
